Mr. Rashin Maharjan, Sr. Instructor at OTC-Bhakatapur participated in TOT on Instructional Skills for TVET Instructors in TITI during July 2020. "The training gave me additional support to become self-confident toward my work. A 10-day e-training showed me a clearer path towards effective communication, teamwork, the creativity of oneself, problem-solving techniques, critical thinking, willingness to learn, way to motivate learners/trainees, utilization of PPE, understanding about Interpersonal skills, and more importantly the teaching methods", Mr. Maharjan mentioned. He further added with his winsome smile, "now I am able to develop a lesson plan, plan practical activities, and understood the Terminal Performance Objective (TOP) and more importantly to gain trainees attention at the starting of the class session which I will definitely work out in the Operator Training Center where I am working since many years."
"Like me, anyone can defy odds and venture into this field. Skills and confidence are all you need."
Currently, I am working at Boudhanath Nirman Sewa as an operator and I am very happy for being self-reliant and being able to support my family. I am very thankful to JCB Operator Training Centre Nepalgunj operated by being operated by Citizen Prabidhik Sikshyalaya and MAW Skills Academy where I received job-oriented operator training.
As a senior instructor, I learned about Terminal Performance Objective, lesson plans format following the Training Implementation Guideline, and ground rules to set for the training. The Training of Trainers in TITI in 2020 guided me to form strategies for Adult Training, debrief lessons, and solve worksites-related problems. Supplementing my learning was the workshop in JCB-India which added a lot of value in shaping me into an instructor.
